The East Frontage road of Hwy 251 was blocked for under an hour on February 5 as Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters extinguished a fire in a garbage truck as well as the load of garbage burning in a pile on the road. The driver of the Rock River Disposal truck had dumped his load on the road to try to stop the fire from destroying the truck. Once firefighters had any fire left in the truck extinguished, it was a matter of spreading the large pile of burning rubbish out and using foam to extinguish the fire. A Village of Roscoe worker arrived with a end loader and helped spread out the garbage.
