Harlem-Roscoe firefighters along with boat 749 responded to a MABAS Box Alarm from South Beloit Fire. It seems four adults had been illegally swimming in a local quarry - one was now missing in the water. The MABAS Box Alarm would bring boats and divers from several fire departments, as well as ambulances and the React Helicopter to the scene. Boats and divers with underwater cameras were put into the water in rescue mode. As time clicked by though, sadly it was switched to recovery mode. A side sonar was placed on Harlem-Roscoe Fire's boat and a search dog was sent out in North Park Fire's boat. Divers in a line continued doing passes from one shore to the other and were the ones that located the drowned swimmer. The Winnebago County Coroner and Deputies were on scene and transported the victim from the scene.
