Special RescuesHarlem-Roscoe Fire has seen nearly any kind of rescue possible for our area. Some of the strangest have been with animals such as deer, horses, calves, snakes, cats, dogs, monkeys, and even a peacock. Above, a pet rotweiller tries to protect his owner from rescuers in an accident on I-90. The dog is sitting on the boy and would try to bite anyone that came close. Animal Control was called in to secure the dog and then EMS were able to treat the injured boy. We also have had our share of rescues with children. They get their heads, arms, feet stuck or are notorious for sticking things in their mouths, ears, or noses that shouldn’t be there. And then there is the occasional adult that gets a toe or finger stuck in a faucet in the bathtub or sink faucet!
