
Capt. Mike Drost joined the department in January of 1989. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1994 and to Captain in 2000. He was an EMT from 1991-1994. Mike is in charge of the Fire Investigation Division and currently the Captain of Station #1 on Main St.
Mike is State Certified Firefighter II & III, Hazardous Materials OPs and Fire Investigator I, II, & III. He has taken advanced classes in Origin & Cause with the Dept of Treasury ATF. He holds certificates and has participated in numerous tested fire investigation related classes and seminars.
Mike has also taken classes in Auto Extrication, Helicopter, Building & Safety Inspector, Dispatch, Swift Water Rescue, Ice Rescue, boat operations, and is a Fire Apparatus Engineer.
Mike testified in an Arson case where the defendant was convicted of arson. He received the "Roscoe VFW Firefighter of the Year Award" in 1998. And in 2004, Mike received a "Certificate of honor from the Office of Illinois State Fire Marshal" for his heroism in saving a man from a burning car inside a garage with two other firefighters.
Mike also served five years with North Park Fire in the 70's.
Mike is owner of Drost Enterprises - Pest Elimination and also served in the
US Army as a helicopter repairman, door gunner, and construction engineer.
He also served a tour in Vietnam.

Capt. Tim Bergeron joined the department in 1992. He was promoted to Lieutenant on April 18, 2005. Tim was promoted to Captain on February 9, 2008. Tim is currently the Captain of Station #3 on Willowbrook Rd.
Tim became an EMT-B in 1993. He became an EMT-Paramedic in 1997. In 2007 he retired his paramedic license and is currently an EMT-B.
He is State Certified FF II & III, Fire Service Instructor I, Haz-Mat Materials Operations, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and is a CPR Instructor. He also has attended several medical and fire classes.
Tim received the department's 2007 Good Service Award. Tim
served the Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters Association as Vice President for 2
years and as Secretary for 2 terms. He works as a machinist at Woodward Governor

Capt. Jay Alms joined the department in 1991. He was promoted to Lieutenant in Jan. 1999 and to Captain on June 6, 2008. Jay is currently the Station #2 Captain on Ralston Rd. and the EMS Coordinator for the department.
Jay became an EMT in 1991 and a Paramedic in 1994. He received the "Loves Park VFW Firefighter of the Year Award" in April 1997. Jay was awarded "Northern IL EMS Paramedic of the Year" for 2000.
Jay is State Certified Fire Officer I, Firefighter II & III, and Hazardous Materials Operations and is NIMS compliant. He is State Certified Instructor I and instructs both fire and EMS. Jay is an EMS preceptor with Swedish-American Emergency Medical Services and Contract Coordinator with Kurtz Paramedic Services. Jay is an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver and a member of the Winnebago County Dive Team.
Jay served as Treasurer and Secretary of the Harlem-Roscoe
Firefighter's Association for eight years. He also currently sits as a Commissioner
on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the Village of Machesney Park.

Capt. Tom Aaker joined the department January 1996. Tom was promoted to Lieutenant Feb. 21, 2004 and to Captain, Feb. 11, 2011.
Tom is the Training Officer for the department and also fills the role as Equipment Officer.
Tom is State Certified Fire Officer I & II, Firefighter II & III, Haz-Mat Ops, & is NIMS Compliant. He has been an EMT- Basic since 1997. Tom has taken numerous classes in extrication, confined space, fire tactics, water supply, and has multiple state certifications on the awareness level. Tom also attended training with Nicor and ComEd in their regional training classes.
Tom received the "Rookie of the Year Award" in
1996 and the 2006 "HRFD Firefighter Choice Good Service Award".
