Lt. Jeff Ball |

Lt. Jeff Ball joined the department May 1979. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1989. He received the Roscoe VFW Firefighter of the Year Award in 1992. He has been a Fire Apparatus Engineer since 1981. He was certified as an Emergency Rescue Technician and is a First Responder. He has taken numerous classes including Hazmat Awareness, Helicopter Safety, Smoke Divers, Safety, and other Fire Classes. Jeff works in Maintenance for the Village of Roscoe. |

Lt. Tom Aaker is in charge of equipment. Tom joined the department January 1996 and received the Rookie of the Year Award in 1996. Tom was promoted to Lieutenant February 21, 2004. Tom recieved the Department's Firefighter of the Year Award in 2006. He is State Certified in Firefighter III, Haz-mat Ops, and Instructor I. Tom became an EMT-B January 1997. He has taken Nicor Gas Training School in 1998, and numerous classes in extrication, confined space, fire tactics, water supply, and is also a Fire Apparatus Engineer. Tom is currently a 9-1-1 Dispatcher. |
Lt. Tom Aaker |
Lt. Aaron Miller joined the department in 1997. He was promoted to Lieutenant April 10, 2005. He became an EMT-B January 1998. He has recieved a Green Cross Award and was Loves Park VFW's Firefighter of the Year in 2002. Aaron is state certified FFII, Hazmat Ops, Rescue Specialist/Roadway Extrication, Confined Space Trench Rescue Awareness Ops, and Instructor 1. He is also OSHA certified in Rope Rescue. He has taken numerous courses including fire investigation, technical rescue, extrication, fire ground ops, etc. Aaron has been a member of the Extrication Team since 1999. Aaron works for Nicor in administrative management. Aarons father was also a firefighter for Shirland Fire in the 80's and 90's. |
Lt. Ron Klaman joined the department in January, 1991. He was promoted to Acting Lieutenant on January 27, 2007 and to full Lieutenant on February 9, 2008. Ron recertified as an EMT-B in June of 2005 and served 2.5 years as well as an EMT-B in 1993- 1995. He is state certified FFII, has Haz-mat awareness, and is a Senior Fire Apparatus Operator. He He has taken numerous classes including Operators Class, Pierce's Aerial Training Class, EMS Mini-Con, Helicopter Training, etc. He currently heads the Cascade and SCBA Division. Ron has served the Harlem Roscoe Firefighters Association as both President and Vice President.Ron is a third generation firefighter and his grandfather retired as Assistant Chief for North Park Fire. Ron is a journeyman tool and die maker/mechanical engineer for Tower Tool & Engineering. |
Lieutenant Jerry McCormick joined the department August 14, 1994. He was promoted to Acting Lieutenant on January 27, 2007 and full Lieutenant on February 9, 2008. Jerry became an EMT-B in 1995 and a Paramedic in 1999. He received the Loves Park VFW's FIrefighter of the Year Award in 2004. He holds an Associates of Applied Science in Building Construction Technology and in Fire Science. Jerry is state certified FFII, Hazardous Materials Operations, Roadway Extrication, Instructor I & II, and Tactics & Strategies I & II. He was the first HRFD firefighter to be state certified as a Fire Apparatus Engineer & Fire Service Vehicle Operator. He holds certificates in Leadership I, II, & III from the National Fire Academy. He has attended classes at Monroe Fire School, IFSI at UofI for six years, FDIC in Indianapolis for five years, Mini Con in Freeport for seven years, and numerous classes throughout the region. He has also attended pump operators training through Akron Brass Manufacturing in Ohio. He also attended the 40-hour Smoke Divers Class in 1997 in Rockford. He is currently an adjunct instructor for Monroe Fire School where he has instructed advanced SCBA and Search & Rescue for the past three years. He has been the lead instructor for the HRFD recruit class for the past six years and is the lead instructor for all pump operations and driving classes. He is also the Lt. in charge of the driving division. Jerry is a ful-time Paramedic for Lifeline Ambulance. |

| Lt. Ramona Baldoni-Lake |
Acting Lieutenant Ramona Baldoni-Lake joined the department in September of 2001. She was promoted on April 20, 2008, to Acting Lieutenant, becoming the first woman officer on the department. Ramona became an EMT-B in 2003 and an EMT-Paramedic in 2007. In 2006 she graduated Phi Theta Kappa with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Fire Science. Ramona is state certified FFII, Haz-Mat Ops, Fire Apparatus Engineer, Instructor I, Management I & II, Tatics and Strategy I & II, Roadway Extrication, Auto II, Technical Rescue Awareness, and Rope Rescue. She is a certified CPR/AED Instructor through American Heart Association. Through the US Dept of Homeland Security she holds certification for FEMA Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) "Train-the Trainer". Ramona currently serves as Treasurer for Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters Association. She currently is part of the clinical staff at Physicians Immediate Care. |

Acting Lieutenant Brad Knipp joined the department in 1993. He was promoted to Acting Lieutenant on April 20, 2008. He was previously an EMT-B for three years. Brad is state certified FIrefighter II, Hazmat Material Awareness, and Apparatus Engineer. He is a certified PADI Open Water Diver, a certified CPR Instructor through the American Heart Association, and has taken numerous classes such as weather spotter, NIMS, and helicopter safety. Brad served three years as the Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters Association President, one year as Vice President, and six years as Trustee. He is currently employed at Englewood Electric Supply as an Account Representative. |
