
Lt. Jerry McCormick joined the department Aug. 14, 1994. He was promoted to Lieutenant on Jan. 27, 2007. Jerry became an EMT-B in 1995 and a Paramedic in 1999.
He holds an Associates of Applied Science in Building Construction Technology and in Fire Science. Jerry is state certified FF II & III, Fire Officer I, Hazardous Materials Operations, Roadway Extrication, Instructor I & II and Tactics & Strategies I & II. He was the first HRFD firefighter to be state certified as a Fire Apparatus Engineer & Fire Service Vehicle Operator. He holds certificates in Leadership I, II, & III from the National Fire Academy. He has attended classes at Monroe Fire School, IFSI at U of I, FDIC in Indianapolis, Mini Con in Freeport, pump operators training through Akron Brass Manufacturing and attended the 40-hour Smoke Divers Class in 1997 in Rockford.
He currently instructs for Monroe Fire School SCBA Class and actively instructs the recruit class, pump operations and driving classes. He is in charge of the departments Driving Division.
He received the Loves Park VFW's Firefighter of the Year
Award in 2004.

Lt. Ramona Baldoni-Lake joined the department in September of 2001. She was promoted on April 20, 2008, to Lieutenant, becoming the first woman officer on the department. Ramona became an EMT-B in 2003 and a Paramedic in 2007. In 2006 she graduated Phi Theta Kappa with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Fire Science.
Ramona is state certified FF II & III, Fire Officer I & II, Management IV, Instructor I & II, Confined Space Ops, Haz-Mat Ops, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and Rope Ops. Ramona also has Roadway Extrication and Auto II Training. She is a certified CPR/AED Instructor through American Heart Association. Through the US Dept of Homeland Security she holds certification for FEMA Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) "Train-the Trainer".
Ramona served four years as Treasurer for Harlem-Roscoe
Firefighters Association. Ramona is employed by ATS Medical Staffing as a
Paramedic.

Lt. Doug Wolfe joined the department Jan. 1996. Doug was promoted to Lieutenant on April 1, 2009.
He is State Certified Firefighter II. He has completed Basic Company Officer Training, Hazardous Materials Awareness & LP Burn thru IFSI, and taken classes in water supply, weather spotter, helicopter safety and is NIMS compliant. He is also a Fire Apparatus Engineer. He attended the 40-hour Smoke Divers Class in 1997 in Rockford.
He currently serves as one of Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters
Association Trustee. Doug is employed as a CNC machinist at Advanced Machine
& Engineering.

Lt. Bob Stark joined the department on Jan. 20, 2000. Bob was promoted to Lieutenant on July 1, 2009. Bob currently leads the Communications Division.
Bob is state certified Firefighter II with Hazmat Awareness, Communications Specialist and Emergency Vehicle operator. He has also taken FEMA, NIMS and Helicopter training classes.
Bob has served as Treasurer and Station #3 Trustee for the Harlem Roscoe Firefighters Association.
Bob is employed by Motorola, Schaumburg, IL as a Systems
Technologist.
Lt. Mike Huffman joined the department in the fall of 2000. He was promoted to Lieutenant on June 8, 2010. Mike became an EMT in 1993.
Mike is state certified FFII, Instructor I, Trench Ops, Technical Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Ops, Emergency Roadway Extrication Technician and is a Senior Fire Apparatus Operator.
Mike has taken numerous classes in Vehicle extrication, Big Rig Rescue, New Vehicle Technology, RIT, Fireground Tactics, Rescue Company Operations and Smoke Divers and is NIMS compliant.
Mike is currently the HRFD Extrication Team leader, and TERC (Transportation Emergency Rescue Committee) Region 5 Chair and International Judge. Mike also instructs at Monroe Fire School in vehicle extrication, IFSI, SAFE-safe and fast extrication-Milwaukee, NAVRA - North American Vehicle Rescue Association. Mike served two years as the Harlem Roscoe Firefighter's Association's Vice President.
Mike previously served eight years with North Park Fire
prior to joining HRFD where Mike received a "Certificate of Honor from
the Office of Illinois State Fire Marshal" for his heroism in helping
save a young girl from her burning home. Mike is a 2-time Hurst Green Cross
participant.

Lt. Chris Scott joined the fire department in October of 2002. Chris was promoted to Lieutenant on July 11, 2010.
He is state certified FFII, Instructor I, and a Fire Apparatus Engineer. He has taken numerous classes through IFSI at Fire College in Champaign and classes such as Coordinated Fire Ground, Single Family Dwellings and Basic Pumper and Tanker Operations. He has also taken numerous other classes such as Hazmat Awareness, Helicopter Safety and Operations and is NIMS compliant. He has been an Operator/Engineer since 2003.
He has also been a member of the Training Division since
2004 and is an active instructor for the Recruit and FFII Classes.


Lt. Ryan Alms joined the department in December of 2001. Ryan was promoted to Lieutenant on June 8, 2010. He became an EMT-B in May 2004.
Ryan is state certified FF II & III with Hazmat Ops. He has taken numerous fire related classes including helicopter safety and large vehicle extrication. He is certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher and NIMS compliant.

Fire Prevention Lt. Virgil Johnson served the department previously for 15 years from 1970 to 1985. He reached the rank of Captain, was an inspector and served as a Paramedic for five years.
Virgil rejoined the department in 2000 to serve in the Fire Prevention Division and was promoted to Lt. in 2001.
Virgil has taken numerous classes in such things as arson investigation and EMS.
Virgil has received the "VFW Firefighter of the Year
Award", 15 yr. Fire Service Award from OSFM, and the IL Fire Inspectors
Association's "Fire Achievement Award".
