 |
Station #2 was built in 1978 and is located at 825 Ralston Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Trustees Jim Hall, Carl Rich, & Bill Woodward were instrumental in procuring this station. Harlem Township also invested money in the station to see that the station was brick and not cinder block with wood veneer.
The station was remodeled in 2002. The new addition added a kitchen, offices, meeting room, bunk room, laundry room, mechanical room, more rest rooms, and a lounge/exercise room to the existing fire apparatus bay and radio room. Plus an elaborate automated exhaust system.
Station Two is home to one Quint, two engine/pumpers, one ALS Ambulance, one minipumper, one suburban, and a boat. The station also has a portable 7kw backup generator in case of an electrical outage, an Eagle Air Cascade System and a hose washer.
